I made about 2000 caps for a music video that used a lot of blur and fade in/out filters and I ended up getting it down to 81 caps w/o noticing. there really isn't much more I can do so I was wondering if there are exceptions for things like that? I mean I can go back and ass in 19 blurry indistinguishable caps if you like but... wouldn't that just make you job harder anyway?

Nope, that's totally fine! We appreciate you taking out the screencaps that would probably be useless in a deck because yeah, it does make our job easier. We just ask for at least 100 screencaps to give a good variety when we make decks but only giving us 81 is fine.

another few questions here, just because i was thinking/reading about the idol factory activity. orz

1. for requirements for members like vocalists, do we need to meet the requirements for every vocalist or do we meet the requirements once and then unlock all of them? along the same lines - for maknae and leader, do we need 50 different trades to unlock each (totaling 100) or just 50 to unlock them both.

2. are we allowed to double up decks for artist collection and meeting idol factory requirements?

3. can we sign up for idol factory/artist collections right now or do we need to wait until opening? c:

It's okay! No questions are dumb tbh. I tend to phrase things a little weirdly or forget to mention pieces of info all the time or make typos so I expect people to ask me to clarify stuff.

1. The requirements for the Main Positions will need to be done for every member you have with one of those positions. You would end up having to do more work but you'd get more rewards so it'd balance out. For the Side Positions or in your example, the Maknae and Leader positions, you'd have to make 50 trades each for a total of 100 trades to unlock both of them.

2. I will say yes for now just because they are not the same activities and I want to encourage players to part take in both activities! Of course, you cannot double up on decks if you're using them in the same activity, though.

3. Wait until opening! At the bottom of the community posts for those activities it will say something like "this activity is not open yet" so once those are removed (aka when we officially open), you can sign up.

This doesn't really pertain to this TCG per se, but are there any good galleries and websites with plenty of HQ images you know about?

I used Google and Last.fm for my deck donations (and level badges that I'll be posting soon) plus some sites on blogspot but they are all over the place and most of the photoshoots seem incomplete. It's a bit difficult to collect images when I don't know of any good sources. orz

Hm... I don't actually know of any good galleries and websites with a lot of HQ images for artists in general since I also rely on Google and Last.fm a lot but I do know that if you're looking for something specific, then checking fyeah tumblrs or fan sites for a certain artist might be a good place to start. I know EXO fyeahs have A LOOOOOT of images and the tags are really helpful to find what you're looking for, plus they post literally anything relating to the artist but I don't know how good other fyeah's may be.

When I'm looking for images from a certain photoshoot I usually Google the artist name + the name of the photoshoot (and any other name variations that it might fall under) and just scroll through pages until I see pictures that match the photoshoot. Sometimes click on the website where the image came from may lead to other pictures from that same photoshoot that the same may have posted but it depends.

Hopefully these suggestions can give you some ideas on where to start? It might lead you to other places that will help you but this is about all I know and use so I'm sorry if it wasn't that helpful!

No, your tips are definitely helpful, thank you! I just thought there might be simpler ways to accumulate images like there are for animanga pictures with these huge galleries Minitokyo, Zerochan etc. and I was hoping someone knows good sources. ^^

ROLLS HERE sorry, I know this is the mod contact post but I was also experiencing this problem not long ago and I can share some of the things I've kind of discovered while collecting images for my decks.

First, don't be scared of using google/yahoo images because I actually found some really great stuff in there. Not to mention it can lead you to some sources for a lot of images. They also have like those settings that let you sort by size (well, Yahoo does), which a lot of the images in my Kara deck are actually found on wallpaper sites; they're the one that aren't like edited to hell and back.

Those image searches also have like really crappy images too: ones that are really pixelated or small. If you don't have it already, Image Search Options is an app that can be added to Chrome and Firefox (possibly others) that let's you right click an image and use it on google image search, which will pull up all versions of that image it has cataloged on the web. So you can take a 240 x456 image, do this, and find one that's 800 x 1234 or something (those aren't correct aspect ratios, but you get the gist I hope).

And yeah tumblr is really, really helpful with it's tagging system and Fyeahs, but can also be filled with edits and craziness and tags can be hellish to sift through. But, if you find an edited image that'd possibly be too edited to use in a deck, you can also do the above and see if it can come up with the original. This can be a long shot since it processes images by shapes and colours (which edited images distort colour), but I actually got a couple images out of this! Oh, and maybe this goes without saying, but images like this are what I mean by usable where as edits like this you won't get anything out of it.

Also, just searching IDOL/BAND NAME fansite can bring you to sites with workable galleries or if they have LQ galleries, you can just use the google search trick again.

This is a good image tumblr, not just because it obviously offers HQ images but also because going to picture links directly takes you to a site called minus that has a gallery of similar pictures. IE going to this picture and clicking on the text beneath it takes you to this link which tah dah, has more like images in a gallery type format which are also HQ. Also, just searching for "hq kpop pictures" or something can take you to numerous galleries with tags that go to idols and bands.

That specific site, minus, is actually nice but hell if I know how to fully navigate it. Going to the kpophqpictures minus, it looks like the images cut off at two months ago but they have loads more galleries that you can get to from their tumblr. Also taking the following link (http://kpophqpictures.minus.com/explore/) and after the last / adding the name of your group or idol can bring you to other galleries by other users.

Also, for certain idols, regardless of what you do it's just hell finding pictures, mostly because they just aren't so popular. I know that looking for pictures of Nicole from KARA I found idk how many galleries, sites, pictures, etc of Hara and for every 20 Hara links/galleries there was maybe one Nicole one. If your band or idol isn't like mondo popular (at least in terms of their group mates), it's quite possible that you're just going to have a hard time finding stuff for them. My Nicole donation was pretty shotty in terms of HQ consistent pictures.

Another thing is (and this might need a STOP DON'T from an admin) that some photoshoots are just really tiny? I know a lot of photoshoots I liked only have 7 pictures, some might have had 12. So if you can find a tiny photoshoot that you know has no other sources of idk photoshoot material, those might be good to involve. This only works with single members though.

And thooose are basically all the tips I personally have for you! Hope that helped!

OH and P.S. Minitokyo has some scans for idol groups; I know at least it has a decent Kara section I found useful, though I think it's more for idol groups that actually made it to Japan.

I've actually been using the Google image search options all the time and I was hoping there were less tedious options, which is why I posted the question in the first place, but I haven't looked around fansites yet; I really don't know why I didn't thought of those so thank you!

I have a silly question about the Idol Factory activity: do the artists I choose have to make sense as a fictional band? lol For example, I could put T.O.P with his deep rapper voice and Taeyeon with her angelic voice in one band, right?

Pft, no questions are silly! As for your question, uou can put whoever you want in your band for whatever reason you'd like. Idol Factory is essentially creating your dream team even if it doesn't "make sense". But then again, when has anything in K-POP make sense anyways?

So tl;dr: You can use both T.O.P and Taeyeon in the same band and it'd be A-OK!
